At times, we must recommend against the restoration of certain items for one of the following reasons:
- Loss Related – The items have sustained irreparable damage from the loss such as scorching, shrinking, fading, color bleeding, and color change.
- Pre-existing damage – Items that are in frail or weak condition will often times not withstand the necessary restoration processes. We avoid causing further damage to these items by classifying them as non-restorable.
- Not cost effective to restore – Sometimes the age, condition, or apparent value of an item is estimated to be less than the cost of restoration.
Our experienced staff is trained to evaluate the extent of an item’s damage as well as its cleanability. We can recommend what should be restored and what should not be restored and explain why. There is no charge for non-restorable items.
